Nicosia, Feb 26 (CNA) -- UN Secretary General Kofi Annan held talks this afternoon in Nicosia with President-elect Tassos Papadopoulos, which lasted one hour.

Neither the UN chief nor Papadopoulos made any statements before the meeting. When asked after the meeting what the difference was between the memorandum and the third Annan plan, Papadopoulos said: ''I have not seen it yet''.|

The meeting took place at the residence of Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, UNFICYP Chief of mission Zbigniew Wlosowicz, in the UN-controlled buffer zone, near the Nicosia airport.

Scores of local and foreign media representatives have gathered outside the residence, where Annan is due to meet also with Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash.

Annan earlier met with outgoing President of the Republic Glafcos Clerides, at the latter's residence.
