Nicosia, Dec 23 (CNA) -- Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos expressed his wish that 2005 will be a year of reunification of Cyprus adding that the decisions taken during this year by the people have formed the frame of how the political cause will continue.
Visiting camps of the National Guard to wish Merry Christmas and a happy new year to the soldiers, President Papadopoulos said that decisions taken during this "tough" and "difficult" year must be respected and put into practice.
''Our battle never ends and our hope and pursuit is that the new year must allow us to reunify our country and to abolish the green line that still exist'', Papadopoulos said.
Referring to the soldiers, he said that due to their service, people can feel secure.
He also praised the level of their training adding that he trusts the leadership of the National Guard.
