Cyprus cabinet to decide on assistance to southeast Asia
Nicosia, Dec 28 (CNA) -- The Cyprus Council of Ministers will decide tomorrow during its weekly meeting on the assistance that will be granted to southeast Asian countries that were devastated by the fatal tsunami on Sunday, announced today Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos.
Answering questions after presenting the Cyprus Export Awards in Nicosia, President Papadopoulos said Cyprus’ moral support to the quake stricken areas is a matter of fact.
He said that bearing in mind the extent of the disaster, Cyprus’ contribution could not be deemed notable.
“You must appreciate that even the symbolic indication and proof of our interest and support are important”, the Cypriot President told the press.
