Cyprus FM Permanent Secretary to visit Syria and Iran
Nicosia, Feb 2 (CNA) -- Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Sotos Zackheos will visit Syria and Iran where he will have contacts with government officials on the Cyprus question, bilateral relations, Syria's and Iran's relations with the European Union and regional issues such as the Middle East and the Iraqi questions.
Ambassador Zackheos is due to leave today for Damascus for a two-day official visit, February 3 and 4, at the invitation of Syria's Alternate Foreign Minister Nabila Al-Shalaan.
Zackheos will also be received by Syria's Prime Minister Muhammad Naji Ultri and will hold meetings with Foreign Minister Faruk Al-Shara, with the President of the Syrian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee and with Patriarch Ignatios V at Antioch Patriarchy.
The Cypriot officila will then fly to Iran at the invitation of the country's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohsen Aminzadeh, where he will hold meetings February 5 - 6 with Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazii and the Minister of Commerce.
