Cyprus' EU accession can help Iran - EU ties, says Iranian FM
Nicosia, Feb 7 (CNA) -- Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Kamal Kharazzii has welcomed Cyprus' accession to the European Union, stressing that this would contribute to the strengthening of the Iran – EU relations.
According to an official press release issued here this was stated during a meeting in Teheran between the Iranian FM and Permanent Secretary of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sotos Zackheos.
Zackheos briefed the FM over the latest developments in the Cyprus problem.
The high-level of bilateral relations and the common interest for further development in trade and economic cooperation were also reaffirmed during the meeting.
The Cypriot official also met with Deputy Foreign Minister Mohsen Aminzadeh with whom he discussed regional issues and Deputy Commerce Minister, responsible for Foreign Trade Development, Mojtaba Khosrowtaj with whom he discussed bilateral issues.
