Greece's Deputy National Defence Minister to visit Cyprus
Nicosia, Mar 9 (CNA) -- Greece's Deputy National Defence Minister Ioannis Lambropoulos will pay a working visit to Cyprus on March 10-11.
During his stay, Lambropoulos will have a meeting with Cyprus Defence Minister Kyriakos Mavronicolas, visit the National Guard Headquarters and attend a ceremony during which the identified remains of two Greek soldiers who were killed during the 1974 Turkish invasion of the island will be handed over to their relatives.
The ceremony will take place at Macedonitissa Tomb in Nicosia, on March 11.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied 37 per cent of its territory.
