Cypriot Defence Minister to take part in EU ministers' meeting
Nicosia, Mar 17 (CNA) - Minister of Defence Kyriakos Mavronicolas leaves for Luxembourg today to take part in the EU Informal Defence Ministers' meeting.
An official statement said that during meetings with his European counterparts, Mavronicolas would reiterate the positions of the government of Cyprus on issues concerning a solution to the Cyprus issue.
Mavronicolas will also refer to EU security and defence issues.
He returns to Cyprus on Saturday evening.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied the island's northern third.
