Cyprus House President briefs Cypriots in Australia
Nicosia, Mar 17 (CNA) -- Cyprus House President Demetris Christofias, on an official visit to Australia, has outlined his positions on the question of Cyprus to the Cypriot community in Brisbane.
He also talked about the changes the Greek Cypriot side wishes to make on a UN-proposed solution plan (the Annan plan) in order to have it accepted by the Greek Cypriot community.
An official press release, issued here today, said that Christofias has also met with the Speaker of the House in Queensland Ray Hollis and the leader of the opposition in the area Lawrence Spingborg.
On Friday morning, he leaves for Melbourne where he will see the Speaker of the parliament of Victoria Judith Maddigan and the chairman of the Legal Council Monica Gould.
He will also meet Australia's special envoy for Cyprus Jim Short.
While in Melbourne, Christofias will watch the parade to mark Greece's national day.
