Cyprus Foreign Minister to visit Jordan
Nicosia, Mar 28 (CNA) -- Cyprus Foreign Minister George Iacovou flies to Jordan on Tuesday for a two-day visit during which he will discuss, among other issues, bilateral ties following Cyprus' accession to the European Union.
The visit takes place at the invitation of Jordanian Foreign Minister Hani al-Mulki in the framework of visits by Cypriot government officials to the region after the Republic joined the EU in May last year.
Iacovou will also discuss relations between Amman and Brussels as well as regional issues, primarily the Middle East question.
The Foreign Minister will brief his interlocutors about recent developments in efforts to find a negotiated settlement in Cyprus.
Iacovou, who leaves Tuesday morning for Amman, will meet, among other Jordanian officials, Prime Minister Faisal al Fayez.
He returns home Wednesday night.
