Nicosia, Jul 7 -- Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos has sent a message of condolences to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, following the terrorist attacks in London this morning.

He stressed that ''the Government and the people of Cyprus strongly condemn such horrendous acts of terror and stand in full solidarity with the British people and the rest of the international community in the fight against terrorism of all kinds.''

“It is with profound sorrow that I have received the shocking news of today’s terrorist attacks in London, which resulted in the loss of many innocent lives and the injuring of many more,'' Papadopoulos said.

"In these tragic moments for the people of the United Kingdom, I wish to convey to you on behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and myself personally, our most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy. All our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the British people.''

''Please convey to the families of the victims my deepest sympathy as well as to the families of the injured my best wishes for their speedy recovery,” Papadopoulos concluded.
