Cypriot tourists dead in Sharm el-Sheikh bus crash
Nicosia, Aug 19 (CNA) – At least 7 Cypriot tourists were killed and 3 others injured when their bus crashed in Egypt, officials say.
Permanent Secretary of Cypriot Foreign Ministry Sotos Zakheos said that according to reports from a military hospital in Egypt, 13 Cypriots were returning to Sharm el-Sheikh from an excursion to St Catherine monastery at Mount Sinai, when their minibus overturned.
Cyprus' Ambassador in Cairo Phaedon Anastasiou is on his way to the area to provide assistance to Cypriot nationals.
The names of the victims have not been released, pending notification of their next of kin.
