CMP agrees on anthropological laboratory location
Nicosia, Sep 29 (CNA) – The Committee of Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) has agreed on the location where the anthropological laboratory is to be established in the buffer zone, close to Nicosia airport.
According to a CMP press release, a forensic anthropologist of Inforce will arrive on the Island on 2nd October to supervise the initial technical work required in setting up the laboratory. ''This work is expected to be completed quickly, as soon as possible'', the press release notes.
Regarding the CMP programme of exhumations and identification of remains through the DNA methos, the members of the Committee have discussed at their 415th formal meeting, under the chairmanship of the Greek Cypriot member Elias Georgiades, the procedural aspect, which is expected to be completed soon.
The 90th working session of the Committee is scheduled to commence on Thursday, 20 October 2005, under the rotational chairmanship of the third member Pierre Guberan.
