Athens, Nov 7 (CNA) – The Cyprus problem and efforts to revitalize the dialogue for a solution to the problem, in connection with Turkey’s EU accession course, were discussed during a meeting in Athens between Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis and Cypriot Speaker of the House of Representatives Demetris Christofias.
Speaking after the meeting, Christofias said they had a fruitful discussion, noting that Karamanlis “participates in developments, and listened to our views concerning developments on Turkey’s EU course and ways to make use of it, as well as any efforts that will revitalize the dialogue”.
He expressed the hope that the dialogue will lead to a solution, with the necessary changes to the UN Secretary-General’s plan.
The Cypriot Speaker returns home later this evening.
