Cyprus to host Commonwealth training-of-trainers programs in combating terrorism
Nicosia, Dec. 6 - Cyprus will host the first Capacity-Building in Terrorism workshop next week, funded by the Commonwealth Secretariat.
The program focuses on the prevention, investigation and prosecution of terrorist acts and terrorist financing. The aim is to enhance the skills of law enforcement and prosecution authorities so as to build over all capacity to combat terrorism and other serious crimes. It also contains an important component on enhancing international cooperation, according to a Commonwealth announcement.
The Commonwealth Secretariat aims to promote training on terrorism prevention, investigation and prosecution as part of the curriculum of law enforcement agencies in about 65 countries, both Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth.
