Cyprus ICT one of the most effective of the EU New Member States
Nicosia, Jan 9 -- Cyprus has the best-managed and most effective ICT (information and communication technology) research program of all EU New Member States and Acceding and Candidate Countries.
In a benchmarking study by EU project ALIPRO on programs related to mobile communications, the Cypriot Program for Research and Technology Development emerged as the top performer among 32 programs from 13 New Member States and Acceding and Candidate Countries.
In the comparative analysis, the Cypriot program scored the highest average value (3.75 out of 4), followed by 10 programs from Hungary, Estonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Poland.
All of them are in the same league as the reference programs: the FP6 IST programs, EUREKA cluster program CELTIC, and four German programs.
