Cyprus to host Digital Ship Cyprus Conference
Nicosia, Jan 21 (CNA) -- Cyprus will host the Digital Ship Cyprus Conference, that will officially commence on Wednesday, 25 January 2006 and take place for two days in Limassol.
A press release of the Cyprus Shipping Council said the Digital Ship Cyprus Conference is an international conference that deals with information and communication technologies that relate to the ship and the shipping companies. The Conference will attract to Cyprus distinguished speakers and IT managers from around the globe.
''Following the great success that the Conference had last year the Cyprus Shipping Council has decided to attract this prestigious Conference for the third time in Cyprus,'' the press release said, adding that ''the Digital Ship Conference is considered as the most important Conference held in Cyprus, which covers issues concerning information and communication technologies that relate to the ship and the shipping companies.''
The Cyprus Shipping Council has played a vital role in the organisation and execution of the Conference. Many of the Conference speakers and panel discussion experts are members of the Cyprus Shipping Council and are employed by shipping companies based in Cyprus.
The Minister of Communications and Works Harris Thrassou has placed the Conference under his auspices and he will address the Conference, during the second day, on Thursday, 26 January 2006.
''The holding of this Conference in Cyprus will further enrich and promote the image of Cyprus as an important international shipping centre,'' the press release said.
