Cyprus clinches second gold medal in Commonwealth Games

Nicosia, Mar 24 (CNA) Ė Cyprus has secured its second gold medal in the 18th Commonwealth Games, taking place in Melbourne, at Women's Skeet.

Andri Eleftheriou ranked first, clinching an 89 out of 100 score.

So far Cyprus has five medals: two gold, one silver and two bronze.

Louiza Theophanous, who also participated in Women's Skeet, ranked fifth.

Kyriakos Ioannou won Wednesday the bronze medal in Menís High Jump with two metres and 23 centimetres.

On Monday Cyprus won three medals. The gold medal came in the shooting category during the menís Skeet pairs with George Achilleos and Antonis Nicolaides clinching a 190 out of 200 score.

Louiza Theofanous and Andri Eleftheriou won a silver medal in the Shooting Women's Skeet Pairs event, scoring 88 out of 100.

Irodotos Georgallas won a bronze medal in the Gymnastics Artistic Men's Rings event.
