Nicosia, Apr 4 (CNA) - Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos and Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Dora Bakoyianni discussed today in Nicosia all issues concerning the two countries.

Bakoyianni, who arrived on the island today for an official visit, said after her meeting with President Papadopoulos that ''we had the opportunity to examine all issues and, as I have said on many occasions, the cooperation between the Greek government and the Cypriot government will be intensified even further in the future.''

The Greek Minister noted that the meeting was ''extremely friendly and useful.''

During the meeting, the delegations discussed the outcome of a meeting in Paris between President Papadopoulos and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, as well as the dynamic and the prospects it offered towards resuming negotiations for a Cyprus settlement.

According to Greek sources, they also discussed Turkey's EU aspirations, in view of the European Commission's progress report scheduled for October, and noted Ankara's obligation to implement the customs union protocol to include the Republic of Cyprus.

President Papadopoulos and Bakoyianni furthermore exchanged views on how EU aid could be channeled to the Turkish Cypriot community.
