Cyprus House President attends Speakers of EU National Parliaments
Larnaca, Jun 30 (CNA) ? Cyprus House President Demetris Christofias said that European citizens must be concerned to all levels on whether they will bring changes to the Constitutional Treaty, to those provisions which constitute a source of inequality and injustice, so as to satisfy the citizens of the countries who have not voted in favor of the Treaty and others who were ready to vote against it.
Speaking at Larnaca airport, before leaving for Copenhagen, to attend the Conference of Speakers of EU National Parliaments, Mr. Christofias noted that all EU citizens must know that a dialogue on the future of Europe is going on at all EU levels.
Mr. Christofias noted that national parliaments are trying to create a mechanism of exchanging information on the current EU issues and a discussion will take place to approve this mechanism.
Invited to say if the concerns and the dialogue in Europe on the EU future affects Cyprus, Mr. Christofias said that its does not affect Cyprus typically, but substantially it affects it as every EU member state.
