Church of Cyprus delivers financial aid to Lebanon
Larnaca, Aug 9 -- Financial aid reaching 60,000 US dollars has been allocated by the Orthodox Church of Cyprus to representatives of various religious groups in Lebanon.
Acting Primate of the Church of Cyprus, Paphos Bishop Chrysostomos returned from Beirut yesterday, after a four hour stay in the country where he handed over the aid to be contributed for the relief of the war victims in Lebanon.
The Church of Cyprus will send more financial aid, a press release by the Church also said.
''We are all children of the same God. I conveyed to them our sympathy, love and support, which is much bigger than any material aid", Bishop Chrysostomos said on his arrival in Cyprus.
He added that the representatives of the religious groups in Lebanon had asked him to convey to the people and the government of Cyprus their sincere gratitude for their aid and support.
