Cyprus condemns Korean nuclear tests
Nicosia, Oct 13 - The government of the Republic of Cyprus ''unequivocally condemns the nuclear test conducted by the
Democratic People's Republic of Korea on 9 October 2006.''
An official press release also pointed out that ''the nuclear test was in flagrant violation of the UN Security Council resolution 1695 and poses a significant threat to regional stability and international security.''
''The government of the Republic of Cyprus strongly urges the Democratic People's Republic of Korea not to conduct any further nuclear tests and to comply with the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and the International Atomic Energy Agency,'' the press release concluded.
