Hungary’s President, officials, visit Cyprus
Nicosia, Dec 13 - Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos received on Wednesday Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom, who had paid Cyprus a one - day visit.
The President of Hungary also visited the Hungarian contingent of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
Moreover, Defense Ministers of Cyprus and Hungary, Nicos Symeonides and Ιmre Szekeres, respectively, have expressed their mutual wish to further enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries especially within the EU framework.
Mr. Szekeres, who accompanies Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom to his short visit to Cyprus, met yesterday with his Cypriot counterpart, who briefed him on the developments regarding the Cyprus problem and the recent crisis in Lebanon and the Middle East.
An official press release issued in Nicosia said that both Ministers “expressed the mutual wish to further enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries, in the framework of their cooperation as EU members”.
