EU Energy Commissioner in Cyprus to present policy
Nicosia, Mar 1 – European Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs is in Cyprus to present the Commission's new energy policy to the Government and interested institutions, organizations, businesses and the media.
He has a scheduled meeting with Foreign Minister Yiorgos Lillikas tomorrow, followed by one with Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos. Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Antonis Michaelides will also be present at that meeting.
The Commissioner will then present the new energy policy during a special event at Nicosia Conference Centre, to be attended by government and private institutions and organizations. He will also participate at a round table discussion on energy.
Mr. Piebalgs and Mr. Michaelides will give a press conference before his departure, scheduled for tomorrow evening.
