Cypriots and Spaniards are the most concerned about climate change and global warming within the EU 27, according to a new survey
A flash Eurobarometer entitled ‘Attitudes on issues related to EU energy policy,’ shows 70% of Cypriots and Spaniards were very concerned about global warming – well above the EU 27 average of 50%.
Yet, despite Cypriots’ concern, only 29% of Cypriots agreed that energy production and consumption has had a big negative impact on climate change. Another 42% said it had some negative impact, while 25% said it had almost no or no impact at all.
Nine out of ten Cypriots (92%) expect the effect of climate change will change energy everyday consumption habits in 10 years’ time.
