Vienna exhibition to be presented in Nicosia
Nicosia, Sep 12 - A world known exhibition, entitled “Vienna- Architecture, Urban Preservation and Renewal”, will be inaugurated in Nicosia today.
The exhibition features roughly 140 objects, designed by Austrian architects and artists and reflects the key trends of contemporary Viennese architecture.
A press release by the Austrian Embassy in Cyprus says that the exhibition also shows how Vienna, in taking bold steps into the future, addresses its rich architectural legacy with care and delicacy.
The exhibition has already been presented in a number of major European cities and it will be hosted in the Cypriot capital Nicosia, a city that also faces the challenges of combining ambitious urban renewal with preserving rich architectural heritage.
The exhibition, which will run until the end of September 2007, will be inaugurated by Mayor of Nicosia Ms. Eleni Mavrou, Member of the Vienna City Government for Urban Development and Transport, Mr. Rudolf Schicker and Austrian Ambassador in Nicosia, Dr. Eva Hager.
