Cyprus artist to exhibit work at the Sixth International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence
Cyprus artist Susan Kerr Joachim will exhibit her latest work at the Sixth International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy opening on December 1.
The Florence Biennale International Scientific Committee selected Kerr, who has lived and worked in Cyprus for almost 40 years, in addition to more artists within the categories of painting, sculpture, graphics, mixed media, installations, photography and digital art. The Biennale will be held in the historic Fortezza da Basso from December 1-9.
Carried out in collaboration with the UN, the Biennale is part of the ‘Dialogue Between Civilizations’ program, putting into practice the thoughts expressed by former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. The Biennale has the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, the Patronage of Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and of the Region of Tuscany, the Province of Florence and the Council of Florence. According to views expressed by many participants, the Biennale is most democratic and favors the meeting of artists from all over the world who gather together in Florence for this event.
