Euro night 2012 – Friday, September 28 at the Embassy of France
We are very excited to announce that for the fifth year in a row, the Embassies of the EU Member States in Washington, D.C. will take part in the "Euro Night 2012" festival, hosted by La Maison Française. Featuring EU Member States Embassies, each showcasing its respective culture, traditions and culinary specialties, Euro night offers the best cultural tour and culinary experience of Europe and it is all taking place here in Washington, DC. A great way to discover European traditions!
Cyprus, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the EU, will be joining the celebration hailed by most to be the "best diplomatic party in D.C. The Cypriot booth will feature the Cypriot national cheese delicacy, “Halloumi”, and the lovely sweet dessert wine, “Commandaria”, as well as local red and white wines.
Cyprus, also a member of the Euro night 2012 organizing committee, is excited and honored to have an incredibly talented young singer from Cyprus, Nikolas Metaxas, perform for the evening. This stunning ensemble of music (that also includes Greek and Cypriot traditional songs) promises to be an unforgettable show. So, don't miss this Friday’s fun, right here in the Nation's Capital!
