“The Voice of Opera: “Be An Opera Superstar!” will represent Cyprus at the Kids Euro Festival 2013 (November 2, 2013)
Kids Euro Festival, the largest children’s performing arts festival in the United States, returns to the Washington area from October 16to November 13. Boasting more than 200 family-friendly events — all of which are free — Kids Euro Festival will transform the metro region into a European cultural playground.
The Festival artist list comprises of some of Europe’s most talented performers for children, featured in diverse and imaginative live shows of puppetry, dance, music, theater, magic, storytelling, and more. Except the main performances, several films and workshops will showcase favorite stories from all the member States of the EU.
We are delighted to announce that play “The Voice of Opera: “Be An Opera Superstar!” will represent Cyprus this year in the festival! Baritone Constantinos Yiannoudes and pianist David Holkeboer from the Kyrenia Opera will entertain and introduce all of our young friends into the magic Opera world. Kids will have the chance to hear some of opera’s greatest hits, accompanied by a multimedia presentation, where the children will have a unique opportunity to “get into the act” and be transformed into opera singers with authentic costumes and stage makeup!
When: Two public performances on Saturday, November 2, 2013 (11am and 2pm) at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The Opera play will also take place on Monday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 5 in two public elementary schools.
Kids Euro Festival is supported generously by Susan Carmel Lehrman, the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, the European Union, TV5Monde, World Travel Service, and Washington Parent Magazine.
