Cyprus in the Kids Euro Festival 2014 - The Voice of Opera: Melodies and Tales from the Mediterranean
The Embassy of Cyprus in Washington, D.C. in collaboration with the Kyrenia Opera and within the framework of this year’s Kids Euro Festival, present The Voice of Opera: Melodies and Tales from the Mediterranean, on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11.00 am at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring (7995 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring MD 20910).
Do you think you have what it takes to become a famous opera singer? In The Voice of Opera, you’ll take a listening tour of some of opera’s greatest hits, along with a few characteristic melodies from Cyprus, accompanied by a multimedia presentation. Then, you’ll have a chance to “get into the act”, as selected audience members are transformed into real-life opera singers with authentic props and costumes! As a concert soloist, Constantinos Yiannoudes — who grew up in Cyprus — has performed in world-famous musical venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and Alice Tully Hall.
There is no entrance fee, however, please make sure you make a reservation on https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cyprus-the-voice-of-opera-melodies-tales-from-the-mediterranean-music-tickets-13488882611.
