United Nations, Nov 11 (CNA) -- The UN Security Council will convene later
Monday in an unofficial meeting to be informed on a document prepared by
UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan for a Cyprus settlement.
The document described as "conclusions of the UN Secretary-General from his deliberations on the next steps in negotiations on the Cyprus problem", was presented earlier today to Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides, in Nicosia, and a representative of Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash, in New York.
The behind-the-doors session, to take place at 1515 hours (New York time), will be informed by UN Under Secretary for Political Affairs Sir Kieran Prendergast, without excluding the possibility the briefing be done by Kofi Annan himself, sources here said.|
