No Objection Statements

As of January 2008 the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus made the decision to grant statements of “No Objection” to all Fulbright and CASP scholars to Cypriot students on J-1 visas.

The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Washington issues statements of "No Objection" automatically without approval of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus.

In order for the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Washington, DC to issue a statement of "No Objection" please submit the following to the Consulate Office:

Personal statement requesting the "No Objection" statement from the Government of the Republic of Cyprus,

A copy of your current passport and any previous passports held while on a J-1 visa in the United States,

Copies of all J-1 visas, and your current visa if your status has changed,

Copies of all Certificates of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status (DS-2019 / IAP-66),

Copy of your original contract or acceptance of the Fulbright or CASP scholarship,

Third Party Barcode Page issued to you by the US State Department, Visa Services upon notification of your formal request to your home country government for a statement of "No Objection" which includes your case file number.

Verification of your present address which is on file at the US Department of State, Visa Services. This can be in the form of a copy of your US Drivers License or Bank Statement.
